Reading this book right now. Man you ever get that feeling of deja vu when reading a book? That makes you feel like the book you are reading couldn't possibly have been written so long ago? Because I swear I had this (below) same thought a few weeks ago. Only I fear that many of us have been consumed already by the disease and have already become the zombies that Fela Kuti spoke of so clearly.
"...now when I listen to our youth and to people my age, I get the impression that this American disease may seriously be threatening our community. I truly hope not. We Africans don't need it and cannot afford to let it happen." (p.264)
