hold uuup... you're sayin your boss asked YOU to c-walk? i thought you were quoting something in the clip at first... wow.

Man! if you knew....we were actually in a management meeting. One of the kids had been 'c-walking' --so to speak-- and was addressed inappropriately by a staff member. We were suppose to be discussing the inappropriate remark that was made by the staff member instead she asked me and the only other black supervisor if we could demonstrate the 'c-walk' for her. Of course she didn't ask the other 3(white) supervisors...last week we were debating the hairstyle on two African American 5 year old girls. Their hair is really short and several people on the management team felt as if they looked liked little boys and that we should add extentions to their hair..I am offended often by the hierarchy at my job..a hierarchy, ironically that I'm apart of, but purposefully so to step in and redirect people's willfull ignorance...or am I an Uncle Tom?...hmmmm.. next week I'm gonna bring up the politics of assimilation in the workplace...

extensions on a 5 year old? for what?

you may be apart of the hierarchy but at least you're there trying to be a mother to some of these kids instead of a missionary.
