So far, the most compelte in-depth book I've reada about the BLACK
PANTHER PARTY is "We Want Freedom" by MUMIA ABU-JAMAL, Pennsylvania
death row dissident journalist. He puts the BPP into historical context
way BEFORE the 1960s in terms of radical Black resistance to slavery,
oppression and inequality> Part of what's most thought provoking and
inspiring about Mumia's book is how CONCRETE it is in terms of COMMUNITY
ORGANIZING--(someone recently mentioned Saul Alinsky's "Rules for
Radicals"---Mumia's book is SO MUCH BETTER.)
