Chocolate souffle? I'm sorry thats HILARIOUS! Who says that?!?! How eloquent of Mr.McKay. Um...that's my new catch phrase from hence forward! Yup!
I'm inspired by this exceptional ancestor.

reading that Cruse gave me some exposure to some interesting ideas about the HR and the key players...when you're learning about it in grade school and even college, they can make it seem like more produtive (i guess thats the right phrase) than some people saw it as or than it really was ( a lot of that i can agree with and understand because of what is still problematic for my generation)

I have respect for some of what McKay had to say and then not so much for some other things Cruse talks about with regard to him...his need to distance himself from "regular black folk" ( ie american-born) but i understand thats only reading one source of information about a person

even my views of my beloved Hughes were challenged by that book and Ive loved that man since the 3rd grade

and its really bad that i still need to finish that book----i cant wait to graduate and have the time
