Friday's Featured speakers include community activists and renowned authors Dr. Edward Bynum (a master teacher) who will be speaking on Clinical Utility of Hypnosis and its African Origins (Ralphe Bunche Center) and Dr. Benson G. Cooke (president elect of ABPsi) who will be addressing Trauma & the Gulf Coast: Healing the Historical Wounds Post Katrina (Gallery Lounge in Blackburn) in concurrent workshops.
Saturday's conference workshops will feature community activists and scholars such as Dr. Ivory Achebe Toldson, Dr. Angela Ferguson,Dr. Fred Harper, Dr. Nickole Scott-Conerly, Dr. Alex Pieterse, Dr. Shawn O. Utsey, and Brother Dhoruba Bin Wahad as keynote (former New York Black Panther Party member and Political prisoner), and more.
Student presenters include Mr. Bedford Palmer (President Elect of ABPsi Student Circle); Ms. Maryam Jernigan (Boston College), and Ms. Nicole Mann (Howard University).
Dr. Clemmont E. Vontress will receive an eldership award for his over service of over 40 years to issues of race in counseling.
