Oh, Spike.



Came across this in my Google Reader earlier today:


Apparently Spike Lee will be teaming up with Nokia to make short films based on "the concept of humanity." Say what you will about that, but there's one part in the article that made me literally laugh out loud:

“This is not a marketing gimmick,” said Craig Coffey, Nokia’s vice president for North American marketing and a former PepsiCo executive. “The notion of social networking and entertainment is real.”
Isn't that just absolutely absurd? Of course this is a marketing gimmick. I think it might actually be interesting considering how talented Spike Lee is and that he was one of the first major film directors to go digital when he made Bamboozled, but come on. Don't insult my intelligence Mr. Coffey.
