Don't say we didn't warn you. With all the good that an Obama presidency may, possibly, bring, at this point it's ALL hypothetical. If Chuck T would have taken my advice -- I kid -- and lowered his expectations of Obama, maybe he wouldn't be so mad.

OK so I KNOW I'm prolly on time-out since I've been MIA lately but I had to comment. First, can I say that I have to question Chuck T's intelligence. Yes, I said it. Obama isn't running for student body president of Howard U, he's running for President of the United States of America. For all that it is and implies, it is what it is and there's really no point in getting into a circular discussion about what that means to different individuals. Anyone who's been paying attention to the media and taking note of the political pulse of this country knows the obstacles he's up against. Statements that his wife Michelle made ("For the first time in my adult life I'm proud of my country") and going to church where a pastor gives his sermons the old fashioned way - a bit of truth, some interpretations thereof, fire and brimstone, blah, blah, blah - can be brought in front of him as if he's directly responsible. Ludacris called her a "bitch" (I really don't think she was taken THAT aback by being called "irrelevant") and that's just not a smart thing to do. Given all the criticism he's receiving from white women and the misogyny we all know exists within Hip-Hop, he had to dissociate himself from that statement or risk being tarred and feathered by the Clinton feminists, mock media, and of course, the party itself.
Second, does anyone really have to be labeled a traitor because they denounce or at least, do not condone, behavior they find unnecessary and derogatory? I mean can he disagree with a black person and not be labeled a traitor or Uncle Tom? I thought it was stupid for Ludacris to call her a bitch in the song the first time I heard it. (Whether I think she's a bitch is irrelevant.) We need to do better and just 'cause someone tells you that doesn't mean they hate you.
So, in closing, eff Chuck T. Eff these other nuccas out here just making money for themselves by "keeping it real" and not doing anything meaningful. You can spin some records but please, like Lupe (and McCain w/ the economy), when it comes to things where you think you may be a bit out of your intellectual league, shut the eff up.
That is all.
i by no means endorse luda's song.
however because this statement is one oft seen with politicians and even "ofter" seen with obama...
"he had to dissociate himself from [fill in the blank] or risk being tarred and feathered by the Clinton feminists, mock media, and of course, the party itself"
i do find it very very very fascinating to see the beginning stages of young black people being disillusioned with Obama. and i do think it's the beginning of a trend we will see if obama becomes president.
