It hurts when I hear about young people, esp. young Black people being cut down in their prime. It happens too often and it does seem endless. <BR/><BR/>It's so easy to become overwhelmed and frustrated by everything that's wrong with the world. You want to do so much and it seems you end up doing so little. However, I think the best thing you can do is start small. What's going on in our immediate areas that we know we can change? Of course change takes a lot of patience. I really believe just doing simple things like tutoring, creating rec centers for neighborhood kids, volunteering and things like that can snowball into something greater, and more expansive. I also believe that a lot of people are doing that now; it's just that the fools who are exclusively about making money are the ones getting all of the attention. <BR/><BR/>I <I>have</I> to stay optimistic that my generation and the proceeding ones will be that catalyst for change we all want.
